Fan running, no heat, error 33

Hi,

I have a Bryant 310JVA and I am getting no heat from my furnace. I have Error code 33 and I have pressed both of the buttons to reset the emergency switches (although they were just pieces of metal and didnt make a sound as i pushed them in.

I have changed the filter, and not sure if I need to call a professional or if I can fix the problem myself. When I turn on the furnace after restarting the system, the hot surface ignitor does not glow, and I smell no gas.

Welcome to the forums.

Here's a link to your manual. Download it so you always have it for reference.

Those switches with the push to reset buttons are flame rollout switches. When you turn the furnace back on from power off.... the blower will run for a minute or two with no heat. That's normal. If you are getting routine code 33's that means an overheat problem. The only way to know exactly which switch is opening is to use a meter. If you have a meter.... let us know and we'll go on.

Meanwhile.... read the manual. It explains how the furnace heating system operates and what a 33 means.
