Trane XV90 Furnace - How to clear Fault Code?

Hi,
I am NEW to forum and looking help to interpret following instructions I found in my furnace manual. I tried and unable to acknowledge Solid red LED as following instructions. I might not doing right obviously. Can someone explain or interpret correct in steps?

Fault Code Reset
The last 4 fault codes can be erased from memory by powering
up the control with “G” energized and then applying “R” to
the “W1” terminal 3 times within 6 seconds. The control will
acknowledge the reset by turning on the red LED for 2 seconds.

Here is my Trane XV90 Furnace model # TUY120R9V5W6

Turn off the power to the furnace. Put the thermostat in FAN ON mode.
Go to furnace. You will need to get to the control board and will probably need to tape the door safety switch in.

Find where the thermostat wires connect. Connect a small jumper wire to the R terminal.
Turn the power back on.
Touch that jumper to the W1 terminal 3 times in 6 seconds.

Any particular reason you need to clear the codes ?
The only time it's really done is when servicing the furnace and a new code is expected.

If your furnace is not running.... clearing the codes will not help.

 

Thanks for the steps, it worked. Yes there was an error code 3. I have cleaned and clear the p-trap clog. All is fine for now.
