Carrier 9200 error code 31

My Carrier Weathrmaker 9200 wont ignite. I am getting error code 31 from the blinking led light. The inductor motor is not running, just humming(and is hot). I disconnected the condensate trap and ran water through it to check for blockage. I don't have access to air intake pipe (roof), so cant check those.

Called a local service and he said the inductor motor probably needs replacing (without looking at it)and quoted about $700, then said since the furnace is 20 years old it may need replaced. I'm not ready to go that route if I can help it.

Also, I replaced the thermostat yesterday with a new wifi one, system ran all last night, but started to work intermittently this morning so I reinstalled original tstat, but did not work. May be unrelated but quite a conicindence.

Any thoughts or suggestions?

To put it simply no inducer no flame. They might be right about the inducer motor being bad.

You should have spent the money on the inducer.

You can post the FULL furnace model number if you'd like help ID'ing the inducer blower.
The inducers run roughly $200.
