Empire wall furnace GWT 50-1 will not turn on

Pilot goes out when thermostat is turned up to bring heater on. I have replaced the thermopile and the gas valve. And still have the same result.

Welcome to the forums.

It sounds like a dirty pilot light. Possibly a plugged orifice. The pilot generator requires a good pilot flame to generate enough voltage to operate the valves.

This is your installation/maintenance manual. There is an excellent diagnostic section on page 7. The pilot flame characteristics as well as voltage measurements are discussed.

Post the make and model of the gas valve you took out and that you installed.

Describe the appearance of the pilot flame.
