Cleaning the furnace

Is this a good article on how to clean and maintain the furnace: How to Clean a Furnace: 14 Steps (with Pictures) - wikiHow

Any other tips would be appreciated.

That article is a basic primer that covers many furnaces. Not terribly helpful for a specific furnace.

Do you have a gas company.... a supplier ? I highly recommend having them do the cleaning. They'll pull and clean the burners as well as the heat exchanger.

Most gas suppliers have great techs and extremely reasonable rates. The summer is a great time to have the furnace cleaned.

I will contact the Gas company and see if they provide that service. Thanks for the information.

I would no more use soap & water on a blower with the motor still attached than take wings & fly. To do so, risks getting water into the motor.
