Duct and oil furnace cleaning
Hello
I have a new oil tank with a older oil furnace in the house I bought 3 years ago. Generally I have had the ducts and furnace cleaned every 12- 14 months. and I clean the re usable furnace filter each year. How often should I have the ducts/furnace cleaned and do I need any other yearly maintenance. thank you

I believe in cleaning an oil fired appliance annually.
The duct work can go a lot longer. No rule of thumb but I'd say every five years. You can pull a register or two off and look in at the duct work to assess it. The return side will get dirtier than the supply side.
