Coleman-Evcon furnace: late starting blower

Greetings, Our Colman DGAT070BDC~The burner ignites and burns for 5 minutes before the Blower turns on, the blower is on for 30 seconds and the burner shuts down~the blower runs for two minutes than shuts off. After a pause the cycle starts over again.

Any suggestions are welcome.

Thank you

Richard

It would appear you have a defective blower control thermostat. The blower isn't turning on soon enough and the furnace is shutting down on high heat.

The part number is 7975-3281. Available from many places.
It's pictorial part 28 in the following diagram.

Thanks for posting that. You think it this item rather than the sensor in the plenum? Well, let me see if I can find that part, you gave the # of.

PJmax, Yes, that's the part, I was thinking of, I'd call it a sensor. Thanks for taking the time to answer to this thread.

The one that part number refers to is 110 degree, would it make sense to get one with a lower setting.

I'll order that part, I found it on Amazon, and post the results. Thanks again.

PJ is that your business, are you in repairs?

PJmax, By the way, is this switch the one located on the upper box that the fan is bolted to? Richard

I'm not quite sure where it is exactly located. I see it in the parts diagram and it looks like it's next to another sensor. They may just be shown that way for clarity. It should be behind the control wiring area.

You wouldn't want to go much lower than 110 degrees or the air will be too cool and you'll get cold drafts.

Greetings and goodmorning, PJmax, Ordered the part. We're located in the sierra Nevada mountains California with the lower ranch on the high desert of Nevada, where we are at the moment.

RE: the switch, there are two sensors or switches behind the relays and one up close to the blower its self' I'll, I did remove and reinstall the leads to them in case the connection was poor.

Thanks PJ for paying attention to this thread, I'll keep in touch.

I adjusted the anticipator, on the wall thermostat so I now have a good long burn. The burner still takes 5 minutes to ignite.

If the part that was ordered: Quote: PJmax

If this part gets the burner to start at 1minute, I'll be laughing. I'll Let you know of the outcome when it arrives.

PJmax, Well, I installed the part suggested, I'm sad to say it didn't make any difference. The burner runs for 5 minutes before the blower kicks on.

It was worth a try, any suggestions?

Thanks
Richard
