Fan turns on but no ignition

When I turn on my furnace the fan will run but will not ignite. Also the LCD screen on the control panel does not display the temperature in the house (even after changing the batteries.) Any advice would be greatly appreciated! Thank you!

Welcome to the forums.

Not much to go on here.

Is it a battery operated thermostat ?
Usually when the display is out... so are the buttons on the screen.

How are you turning on the furnace ?
What fan is running..... the draft inducer or the main blower ?

Sorry I'm a bit of a novice haha. The thermostat seems to be hard wired to the wall but also has the option for batteries which it has in it already. The buttons aren't on the screen itself, just physically next to the screen.

I believe the fan is the main blower coming from the furnace itself. When I switch it on it starts blowing from the furnace throughout the house but there is no ignition. I tried to see it maybe the pilot on the furnace was out but the instructions on the furnace say there isn't one.

If you can take and post pics is a big help. http://www.doityourself.com/forum/el...-pictures.html

Take the access cover off the burner. There will be an ID tag on one side near the burner.
Post the make and the full model number.

Some stat run on batteries and some use batteries to hold memory.
Usually the stat unsnaps off the wall plate for battery replacement.
