Central gas heater randomly not kicking on
I have a CHAC unit that is located outside. The heat is powered by natural gas. The last couple of days the heater has taken spurts where it just doesn't come on.
The thermostat appears to be working fine. It'll show the 71 I have it set to, but it'll be 67 in the house and not coming on to heat the house. If I switch it to off and then back on, it'll run just fine for several hours before it repeats the kicking off when the house it properly heated but not kicking back in when the temp drops.
It has been in the teens outside (feels like -4) temp wise. But I can't remember this happenening in the years before when the temps have gotten that low.
The unit was installed brand new 7 years ago. I believe it to be a Lenox.
Any help would be greatly appreciated!

What is a CHAC unit ? A packaged unit..... everything outside in one box ?
You do know that a furnace is not an install and forget appliance ?
It is supposed to be checked/serviced every year.
The unit is going into fault and you are just resetting it.
To be of any help.... we need the complete model number.
