Furnace turns on, but no heat, and fan not kicking in...

What do you guys think is wrong when you hear the furnace turning on, but there is no heat and the fan is not blowing?
If I manually start the fan, then it'll start, so the blower seems to be okay. What's strange is that it started out at least turning on, but no heat and no fan, but then today, the situation was worst because the Nest said there is no power. So It won't even turn on the furnace. I read reviews on how the Nest can be funky. It's been working for over a year with no issues. Anyway, I decided to uninstall it and reinstall my old thermostat to make sure it's really a furnace issue, and not a Nest issue.
So with the old stat installed, I'm back to being able to turn it on, but still no heat and no fan. So definitely, there is an issue with the furnace. I do have service tech coming out from SoCalGas this week. But in the meantime, I'm curious if this rings a bell to anyone. Thank you.
