Trane XE90 Igniter not glowing to spark gas...
I have a fairly old (17 years) Trane XE90 Furnace. I noticed the house temperature was low so I went to check it out and saw that when the thermostat calls for heat the igniter is not glowing. Here is what I checked...
I checked the igniter and it is not broken and has continuity.
The high limit switch tested fine and was reset.
The pressure switch voltage tested normal.
I cleaned out the ruber tubing from the pressure switch and from the inducer fan.
Cleaned the flame sensor.
Checked the gas, it is working and being triggered.
The indicator light blinks normal/call for heat but after it clicks 3 times with gas to light the flame it goes into system lockout mode with the light flashing 2 times.
Any other ideas? Thanks!

Welcome to the forums.
How was that done ?
The pressure switch is open until the inducer blower runs. Put a voltmeter on the two pressure switch terminals. You should measure around 24VAC. After the inducer runs.... you should measure 0v. The igniter won't heat until the pressure switch has proven vacuum. There will be NO gas flow until the pressure switch proves AND the igniter heats up.
XE90 is just a series. The model number is inside on the side wall near the burner on an ID plate. There should be a fault shown right after the initial ignition failure. After three attempts then you get the lock out fault.
