General Controls Gas valve B60

Does anyone know how many millivolts it takes to open this valve?
The valve is obsolete - Does anyone know of a replacement?
Thanks, David.

Welcome to the forums.

That's called a 750mv system. It takes at least 400mv to operate the valve.

Pretty old valve on what has to be a very old heater. Maybe time for an upgrade ?

That valve doesn't supply the pilot gas.... it uses a separate pilot valve called a B valve. That would get plugged and the pilot gas tube would be connected to the new gas valve.

This Honeywell valve could replace the B60 but I don't consider this a DIY job. Gas pressures need to be set.
