Carrier Code 34 - Ignitor is glowing, no gas or ignition

My carrier furnace decided it was a good time to stop working.
The furnace errors code 34, but my igniter is glowing
The gas valve doesn't seem to be activating and I am not sure what to do next
Any suggestions?

Welcome to the forums.

You're going to need a voltmeter to check for 24vac to the gas valve when it should be opening. You will want to shut off the gas to the furnace during this testing. The link below is your manual and there are good diagnostic routines to follow based on your fault code 34.

One thing you can do is to remove and reinstall the large multiwire connection to the control board several times. This is usually a 9 or 12 wire plug and socket. It can become corroded and this will clean it.

Thanks for the reply
From Common to M I get -8 V dc then it drops to 0 V when it should be turning on.
From Common to H I get -8V dc then it drops to about -6V dc when it should be turning on.
I also got ~60 ohms on the igniter when measuring it.
the main board has a bunch of individual connectors i pulled and re plugged, no change.

Furnace is working
Thank you.

FYI, that is 24 VAC not DC.

Also.... when checking voltage to a part like the gas valve..... the measurements need to be made at the terminals on the valve. Not one terminal and chassis ground.
