Trane XB80 furnace not igniting

Like title says it's not igniting. LED flashes "normal call for heat" constantly. The inducer motor spins the entire time when trying. Ignitor is working and getting hot like it should. It will heat up for 20-30 secs then cool down and try again. Once it's hot I hear the control board click but the gas valve never makes any noise. There's zero gas coming from the tubes while HSI is doing its thing. I replaced the control board a few years ago with the "upgraded" board cuz was having issues with loose connections on the board not allowing the main blower to kick in. The AC side works perfect but we just got our first cold front down here in Texas so heater hasn't been fired since like February. Any ideas guys??

First user name got permanently banned for some reason. Don’t see how it’s breaking any rules but ok. I can get a meter today to check things out once I get home just not super sure what to check

Welcome toi the forums.

If the furnace is not igniting..... you must get a trouble code. If you don't.... I'd say the board has a problem. Ultimately after three tries the board is supposed to go into lockout and shut everything down.

No trouble codes but once I noticed the issue I don't think I've let it cycle more then twice without resetting the system. I'll try just letting it run when I get home from work tonight. Checked yesterday and when the board and gas valve click after the HSI has heated up, the valve has 25volts put to it and a HVAC guy i race with told me it's got to be the valve if it's getting voltage and enough voltage when needed. But I'll double check the codes after letting it cycle for awhile.

It prolly did throw a code now that I think about cuz I think when I first when up the inducer motor may not have been running. It's got the safety switch on the panel covering the board so it would have reset it when I pulled that and I've never let it cycle more then twice since then. But I think I've figured it out tho

I've seen a number of threads with people mentioning intermittent problems with the wiring at the gas valve. It can be caused by corroded slide on connectors or poor soldering on the terminals inside the valve. The plug can be removed and a small bit of contact cleaner sprayed into it. Then plug back in several times. The power switch on the valve can also be intermittent and should be operated a few times.
