Question Ignition lockout due to retries

I have a Coleman GM8S080A12DH11C, and got the error "ignition lockout due to retries". The furnace works fine for some time, but then the error comes back again and only blow cold air. After reset it a couple of time, comes back again and works fine for a while. I notice when it tried to restart and fail, there was no voltage at all on the gas valve. So I'm guessing the problem is not the gas valve. The ignitor, flame sensor and limit switch are working fine. What could be the problem, a relay, a board? I need help to decide what to replace, any help would be appreciated, thanks in advance.

Welcome to the forums.

The gas valve is controlled directly from the control board. If you confirm no voltage coming out of it on the gas valve lines..... when there should be..... the module is defective. So that there is no confusion..... the gas valve is only powered on for less than seven seconds. After the igniter has heated up and just before the system shuts down.

When the system is running normally, there is 26 volts constantly on the gas valve until shuts down. Is that normal?

As long as the burner is lit...... there will be 24v at the gas valve.

a flame sensing problem can cause this, it's probably not the board. could be dirty, burner could be dirty, could have weak connection or furnace isn't grounded properly any more.
