12 year old upstairs furnace started up with this problem. After powering unit off and waiting a few minutes it would work. But randomly spits out code 7 (7 red blinking lights). Assumed it was the flame sensor. Replaced today and then watched through the little window to see my quick fix in action. Same problem...multipe ignition attemps and then the same fault code. However, the far right burner didn't have a blue flame like the other three...and the flame sensor rod wasn't getting any gas. Turned off the power, waited a few minutes, powered on, then all 4 burners came on. What would cause the far right burner (#4) to fail to ignite? The ignitor coil is on the far left and works fine. My folks had a Trane gas heater installed 5 or so years ago. After a couple weeks water started to drip from one of the PCV connections coming off the exhaust. They came back to fix it but it started to leak again a year later. There is a small constant drip that Im very concerned about as it could run back down into the unit and cause problems down the road. Even if I were to replace that portion of the PVC there would still be a fair amount of condensation. I heard a plumber once tell me that he sometimes installs a nipple in the PVC with a hose that runs to the drain so the excess water escapes out the hose and not back into the unit. Has anyone heard of this issue before? I need to fix the leaking pvc but worried about all that excess water. Any help would be greatly appreciated. I will snap some pics tomorrow.
