Trane furnace: KIT09660 replacing 50A52-101

I ordered kit 09660. I followed all the instructions to replace discontinued 50A52-101.
Every thing worked Ok as far as air condition, blowers etc
However, the heater is not working because gas not coming out. Igniter and exhaust blower are working but gas does not come out to be lit.. The pressure switch is fine. I used the one from my other unit and still the same problem.
Any suggestions?

More than likely you didn't wire the gas valve correctly. You should measure for 24vAC at the valve when it should be open.

At the gas valve...... check from pin 3 common (blue) to pin 4 (orange) for 24vAC
................................. check from pin 3 common (blue) to pin 5 (red) for 24vAC.

I Checked, there is 24 to 28 vAC at both terminals. I replaced the gas valve with a working one from my other unit. The same problem. I replaced the circuit board with the one from my other unit and checked the wiring very carefully according to the one unit that was working. Still the same problem.
what does the flame sensor do? what about the pressure switch? Could be one of these two?

If the igniter is heating..... the pressure switch is ok.

There should only be voltage on the gas valve when it's open..... not all the time.

With the instructions should come the order of operation.

The igniter is the last step before the gas valve opens.
If there are any problems.... like an open limit switch..... the igniter won't start.

Thanks for all your help. It turned out to be the polarity at the cap on the gas valve. I turned the black cap upside down and every thing worked ok. Thanks again.
