Furnace not turning on

In the past few days I have two separate instances where our natural gas furnace didn't turn on even though the thermostat said it should. Both times I manually turned the furnace off and then back on (light switch connected to the furnace) and it started right up. Any ideas on what might be the issue?

By cycling power you reset the error that was keeping the furnace off.
What is the model number of the furnace, and what error is it failing on?

Thanks. I am pretty sure the furnace is a Carrier 58STA (house was built back in 2006). I'm at work right now but will check the code when I get home in a few hours.

Take the burner service door off. The ID plate is on the side wall near the burner.
Post the full model number...... not just the group.
