Check on my diagnosis of goodman GMV9 problem.

Hi,

I have a Goodman GMV9 that was showing continuous red light, 115 volt reverse polarity. Since the unit has been installed for years I assumed it's either a bad board or bad ground or neutral. I placed a jumper on the ground and neutral to the power panel near by and no difference, also checked for voltage and it was zero. So I assumed bad board and replaced the board. Now I am getting 3 red flashes, indicating low pressure switch failure. I checked the voltage across the switch and during start up before the ID fan comes up to speed the voltage was 25 Volts, after the ID fan is full speed the voltage drops to zero volts. Switch and all the wiring and plumbing connected is good. As a back up I placed a jumper on the switch to indicate failed close condition and the unit indicated failed close with 2 flashes.

So I am assuming that I got a bad board. Can anyone fault my conclusion?

Welcome to the forums.

A continuous red light is normal..... waiting for a heat call.
A continuously flashing red light is a polarity problem.

If you are getting 3 flashes without calling for heat..... the board is bad.
