2019 Trane furnace will not come on with generator power

I have 3 generators.
Honda 2000 - 12 yrs old
Westinghouse igen 2500 - 1 yr old
Generac 4500 - 15 yrs old
All are floating neutral.

I had been able to run my old Luxaire during a power outage with no problem (I installed a receptacle style disconnect at the main furnace supply line)

Just bought a brand new Trane high eff furnace (2019)...first power outage - would not start up on any of the 3 generators.

Solution - 1/ insert a bonded neutral to ground plug in one of the generator receptacles....test other receptacle and confirm no open ground with tester. ( see Youtube for instruction on making the bonded neutral to ground plug - connect green terminal in plug to silver terminal)

2/ ground generator to grounding plate buried 1' or more below surface.

Voila - all 3 generators will now fire up my swanky new Trane with stupid High Tech circuit board.

Your thanks and admiration are appreciated....especially when its dark and cold and you can't figure out what's wrong and family is freezing !!

Thats great you found your solution.

This is a well known ground bond issue with portables that confuse everyone.

Many articles in the RV world relating to this as some RV's will not run with a floating neutral..

ts also well known with the newer HVAC boards that require bonding to run.
