Blower motor won't turn on
Goodman furnace, model GMES960803BNAA, 2019. I installed furnace 2 days ago. I am a retired hvac service person/pipefitter. I installed the last furnace 21 years ago and had no mechanical issues but that brand is no longer made. Anyway the furnace worked fine for 1 day. I was in the basement and thought I noticed burners coming on but the blower did not start. Burners had gone off (on high limit) most likely and then after a brief period of time burners cycled back on. At this point I turned off furnace and went upstairs and there was a smell from the burners lighting but no fan. I turned tstat off and turned fan to on and went back down and turned power back on to furnace. I now have to run furnace with the fan continually on in order to heat the house. I tried to during the day today to run furnace normally but blower motor failed to start. There was also a fault code of four flashes on the indicator light. Sorry for the rambling question.

Welcome to the forums.
The 4 flash code was most likely open high limit switch.
Circulator blower is energized on heat speed following a fixed thirty (30) second blower on delay.
FAN ON mode....... Circulator blower is energized on heat speed.
On some furnaces..... the FAN ON mode is the same as the A/C blower. In your case the FAN ON mode is the same speed as the heat. Since the blower works in FAN ON mode but not during a call for heat...... your control board would appear to have a problem.
