I have a 5-year old Carrier 58STA gas furnace, the inducer motor fan was making noise at the end of the cycle. I found out the problem was a worn out grommets on the motor assembly. Ordered a replacement, changed it out and took care of the issue. After letting the furnace running for a while, I wanted to check the screws. I cut the power, did a quick check and turned the power back on within a minute. For whatever reason, the inducer fan wouldn't run. The burner was lighted as normal, the circuit board warning light started to flash. So, I cut the power again, checked all wire connection, nothing was loose. When I turned the power back on this time, everything run normal. I did a few tests afterward. The inducer fan just wouldn't run after a quick power recycling. I have to wait 5 minutes or so and it will be fine. Any idea why? Thanks!

Hi, I have a Rheem RGDD-06NC-ER gas furnace. It turned on one morning and would not shut off via the thermostat. We had to shut the power off to the unit to get it to finally turn off. I replaced the thermostat ( a simple 2 wire unit ). I turned the furnace on, and it turned on and heated. I then turned the furnace off using the new thermostat which has an "off" position. The furnace then turned off. We turned the furnace on again and let it heat the house, but the furnace would again not turn off! Even moving the thermostat to the "off" position would not turn off the furnace, so we again had to turn the electricity off to the furnace to get it to shut down. This unit uses a Robershaw 780-715U ignition module. Is the relay and all other controls built into this module, and if so I'm guessing replacing this unit will solve my issue of the the furnace not wanting to turn off? Any help or direction will be appreciated![h1][/h1]
