Gas hot water heater turning off gas furnace.

My gas hot water heater is not firing up the pilot light stays lit but the error codes suggest I have low voltage on my thermocouple.

However if i leave the hot water heater on hot it doesn't fire up and my furnace wont come on. I have to turn the hot water heater off then turn the gas shutoff to it. Then go over to the furnace and switch the furnace off and then back on to make it work.

Why is the hot water heater affecting the furnace?

Welcome to the forums.

That sounds like a gas pressure problem. I'd recommend calling your gas provider and have that checked out. They don't usually charge for a service like that.

Do you have other gas appliances in the house ? Do they operate ok ?

The description brought "low gas pressure" to my mind too. Is this a new problem? Did you have any work done to any gas appliance in the house?
