New inducer motor will not close pressure switch
Furnace model: Carrier 58STA110-10112
Inducer motor replacement part: HC21ZS123
The old motor was loud and was failing causing Error 33. It was a Jakel J238-150-1571.
I replaced the motor and everything seems good. The new motor is quiet and spins freely. The new code is Error 31. I've noticed that the cooling fan has arrows that show it should spin counter-clockwise but the motor is spinning clockwise.
Is it possible that the motor is spinning the inducer fan the wrong direction? Or is the new motor not spinning the old fan fast enough to close the pressure switch?

Welcome to the forums.
Seems to be a little confusion here.
A code 33 fault is over heating...... possibly caused by a problem main blower motor.
A code 31 is pressure switch not closing..... possibly caused by a draft inducer problem.
These are two distinct and unrelated problems.
I've never had one spinning in the wrong direction.
Possibly the motors aren't interchangeable.

The one time I had a fan motor suddenly spin backward, the capacitor was at fault. Why it started turning the wrong direction is beyond me. Normally a bad cap will just cause a motor to not start.

Is part: HC21ZS123 a Carrier number? If start capacitor didn't come with new motor, reverse leads on capacitor. Motor will rotate in opposite direction. After removing power, short both terminals on capacitor to ground before reversing leads.

Yes..... HC21ZS123 is a Carrier part number for a replacement motor.
There is no start or run cap used with it.

Assuming old motor still operates, apply AC power and determine direction of rotation. If rotation of new motor is different (viewing orientation same as old motor), this is not the correct replacement. Contact Carrier about the issue.

Probably have a clogged pressure switch tube
Alot of the time the pressure switch tube or the hole it connects to on the fan is clogged. Pull the tube off and blow in it and you can get a paper clip and stick it in the hole the tube connects to on the fan side. If this don't fix then pressure switch could be bad try jumping it out by getting a piece of wire to connect the 2 wires together that go to pressure switch. If you jump it out and it works you need a new one.
