Blower problems in heat mode

During the summer my blower motor finally died, went up in smoke after 23 years of service. I got a new universal one and installed it and the A/C worked great the rest of the season. Just tried the furnace and everything works fine except the blower will not come on in auto. It works fine in the on position. What should I do next?

Initially, it sounds like the motor is not wired correctly. Do you have a wire going to the fan "heat" terminal on the contrrol board. Pictures would help a lot.

Definitely..... post some pictures.... how-to-insert-pictures.
Part number on control board is helpful.
