Furnace LP gas pressure issue

I just installed a 96% Goodman 40k btu furnace. The gas inlet pressure is 9.4 inch wc and the manifold pressure is about 8 inch wc. The manual calls for 10 inlet and 10 outlet. I converted the furnace to LP with the orifices and spring provided in the kit. The LP conversion kit said to use a certain color spring, but that color was not in the kit so I used the one of the two that actually fit inside the cavity below the adjustment screw. The problem is the plastic pressure adjustment screw for the manifold pressure is extremely hard to turn and is pretty much stripped from trying to increase the pressure. I might be able to get it out but it is not likely. I am not sure what the next best step is. I am not opposed to replacing the valve and LP kit. White Rogers 36J22Y-202 gas valve.
