Automatic pilot light won't stay lit.

I'm not gonna lie....I have never worked on a furnace before. I've done some internet research but haven't reached a resolution to the issue: my automatic pilot light won't stay lit long enough to ignite the burners.

I read a lot about faulty/dirty thermocouples and when I took the pilot burner assembly out, I noticed a porcelain piece was broken off. I replaced the ENTIRE pilot burner assembly for $75 (and was pretty proud of myself) but the same thing was happening (bummed): A click is heard, the pilot lights and within 2-3 seconds it clicks and shuts off. The gas line is on with no kinks leading to the assembly, all my other gas appliances work so I assume it's getting good flow. I'm just not sure why the sensor on this new assembly seems to be cutting the gas just like the old assembly was. I am very frustrated but refuse to give up!!!!

Any thoughts/help would be greatly appreciated!!!

That’s the evaporator model number, not the one for the furnace.
It’ll be in the burner section.

Look for the ID tag on the sidewall inside near the burner.

No, that’s not it either. I don’t get any hits on that number at all.

See if this is the manual. Shows furnace as obsolete.

Arcoaire GNE 80+ furnace (pdf)

Go Arcoaire index
