Air forced furnace

My blower fan sometimes has trouble starting. You can sometimes hear a short or long buzzing pause right before it starts blowing, like its trying to click on. Then rarely.. after about a minute if it doesnt click on it just fails, the buzz goes away, but the heat continues without the fan. At that point because the air isnt being pushed the thermostat would just keep asking for heat and not turn off and on. At that point I turn off the thermostat wait 10 minutes to reset and then it runs normally. It happens more so when the heat was off for a while. Any ideas? Thanks

Many furnace blower motors use a capacitor. Yours may be going bad. Many people start by replacing it as it's typically around $10. It will be down in the blower section.

If it's not the capacitor.... the motor is worn out and needs replacement.
