Quick furnace question, please
We have a new home in Flagstaff, AZ so it's a fairly new furnace unit with typical modern bells and whistles. That said, my situation is after yesterday's heavy snowfall, our furnace, and those of numerous neighbors, went off when the snow got to the level of the air intake and plugged off the air supply. A number of them have said that during the day, snow melted and their heaters are back working,.
My question: Do these heaters come back on automatically? Or do I have to hit a reset button somewhere? I left the house with the heater set at 50* to keep the water from freezing and it has apparently gone off because my neighbor came in and said no water comes out of the tap or toilet.
Thanks very much!

Some furnaces will reset after a certain time and some must be manually reset.
To manually reset you'd power the furnace down for 10 seconds.
You also need to make sure the fresh air intake pipe is clear of snow.

Problem solved. Our neighbor's son had just their home and he very generously cleared the snow from our intake and the furnace system took care of the rest. We not only have a warm house, but also unfrozen water pipes, which was the big money threat.
Thanks!
