Gas forced air

Need some help.

my gas furnace will start and stop. It will run for a day, and then stops.

when it does stop, it will cycle on and off. For example, the (ecobee) thermostat will ask for heat, the furnace, which is located in my attic will begin to run. After a few seconds it just stops.
It will do this a few more times and then lock out completely.

after a few hours the furnace will start again and heat the house.

the house is new, built in 2014. I have changed the filter. Had it on for about 6 months ( forgot).

please help out.

"will begin to run" is not detailed enough to help. There are at least1 safety interlocks that must be satisfied . If the furnace is not vented into a chimney, there is a safety interlock to verify there is air flow in the vent pipe before ignition on a call for heat. Sounds like the furnace controller allows a few retries before going into a timeout. If there is still a call for heat after the timeout, the controller will go thru the startup sequence again. How is your furnace vented?

How cold is it in the attic? You could have a frozen condensate trap or line.

To where does the condensate drain? Any chance it could be frozen? Is there any bilink code on the furnace control board?

The make and model number would help.
What error is generated when the furnace fails?
Is ignition achieved when it fails? If not what step does it reach when it fails? Is the HSI being powered?
