Hello, I have an ECM Blower Motor Nordyne # 622684 and I replaced the thermistor on the board in the ECM. How can I test it without having it in the furnace? I replaced the furnace and I wanted to sell the motor since it still good and I know how expensive they are to buy new. This one was $500! I know I can probably test the motor itself, but I wanted to test the ECM. Thanks

[b]Hi all, I have a Trane XL 80 furnace (1998, model TDD100R945C4) with a blower that won't start unless you physically press and hold the circuit board closer to the furnace[/b]; once you press in on the circuit board, the blower instantly starts and the furnace operates normally until temperature is reached, [b]but the Furance won't restart again once the temperature drops and the furnace calls for heat again unless you physically press on the circuit board again for each startup.[/b] Any thoughts as to what it could be? At this point [b]I am guessing perhaps the blower motor relay has gone bad?[/b] This is the sequence of operation to start the furnace. I realize the main blower would not normally start until towards the end of this sequence for a normally-operating furnace: [list] [*]Heat call from thermostat. Nothing else occurs unless you press on the circuit board at this point. [*][b]Press on circuit board - blower motor starts instantly when circuit board is pressed in and remains on as long as circuit board is pressed in.[/b] Furnace starts so long as the circuit board is pressed in for at least 30 seconds after the flames ignite. [*]Inducer motor turns on. [*]Pressure switches close. [*]Hot surface ignitor heats up. [*]Gas valve opens [*]Furnace lights and runs so long as circuit board is physically pressed for 30 seconds past this point. [/list] Thank you for any insight! I realize this furnace is reaching its end of life and a replacement would be the better long term option. However the furnace only has to last another couple years, thus I am hoping I can fix it rather than replace the entire furnace.
