condensor fan stops after overheating and once it cool down it starts up again. while the fan is idle the compressor continues to run. a new contactor was put on hope that would solve the problem but it has not helped. what could be wrong???

With power off

look around for the fan run capacitor. It looks like a silver, oval can.It could be bad or a wire may be off of it.The info on the capacitor will be needed to pick up an exact replacement.Hopefully the motor is okay.PDF
