Unhappy Goodman GMP100-5 Ignites, but then nothing and goes out

Hello

My Goodman GMP100-5 REV B gas furnace will ignite, but blower doesn't come on. After a few minutes, the flames go out and the troubleshoot like blinks four times. Furthermore, I can turn the blower fan blades easily with my hands and the motor does not feel hot. Does this imply it could be electrical?

Have you looked up the blink code? That indicates a open high limit switch so yes, it could be electrical.

Test the voltage going to the motor. The motor could have an open winding.

Ok and Thanks for everyone's help. There was no light indicator for the blower so I wasn't sure. Also, if the blower isn't working and the flames keep going, could that cause the 4 blink indicator? Finally, does anyone know where there is a parts list for the GMP-100-5 REV B. I found one site that sells part, but the igniter they were selling for my model was different; 1 screw instead of 2 ans the shape was different. Lastly, anyone know a good place to purchase parts?

Thanks Again

"...if the blower isn't working and the flames keep going, could that cause the 4 blink indicator?"
The fan carries heat away from the burner & plenum. If it's not running (not taking heat away) the burner tubes & plenum can get hotter than normal. Also a clogged filter can restrict the airflow enough to push a furnace into over temp.

Why are you talking about the ignitor? You said it is lighting. That is a part that works or it doesn't and it won't cause an over temp problem.

Does the blower work at all? Measure voltage on the heat terminal feeding the motor when it should. If works with a/c try swapping the heat and cool terminals to see if still blows on a/c.

Igniter works, had a trouble in the past and had a hard time getting correct part. I seem to always have trouble the first time I try using the furnace after summer!

Blower doesn't come on at all, but doesn't seem to be frozen up or getting hot as if power was coming to it but it wouldn't turn. Also, I am having a hard time discerning where the blower limit switch is and can't seem to find a picture anywhere. Sorry, I'm REAL green on this, but on disability and can't afford a repairman

I will look into the suggestions next week after a weekend of football. Luckily, it's not cold here yet

I thought I'd come back, perchance I help somebody else with the same problem. I am not very good at electrical and the control board just scares me. Hence, I tried to run it at "Fan Only" mode. It hummed, but never came on. Hence, I ruled out the control board and knew a signal was getting to the unit. Therefore, it had to be the blower motor or the run capacitor. Since I was able to find the latter for $13, I tried the cheaper and MUCH easier fix first (my blower motor is behind the housing). Luckily, the run capacitor fixed the problem.

Again, I thank everybody for their posts...

Good job. The run caps on blower motors rarely go bad. You were lucky.
