Now that the days are getting colder here in the North East I noticed that my furnace vent is allowing cold air to enter the house. Is this normal conditions for this vent in the picture below.
If I hold my hands up to where the arrow is in the picture I could feel the cold air seeping in.
My furnace will not stay lit
I have an Armstrong gas furnace that will not stay lit. I replaced the flame sensor figuring that was the problem. The flame will ignite for a few seconds then shut off, then the process will repeat. The high limit switch is closed, 1.2 Ohms across the terminals. What should I look at next.
Thanks
Hi. I have an older Williams Propane Wall Heater. According to the label in the heater its a model FO 038145. I can't find a manual for it but it appears to be just like a Model 6257731 of which I did find a manual. The heater is in a small mountain cabin (elev 5200').
I have had a problem with the heater since we bought the place 10 years ago. The fan cycled on and off, never staying on for more than a few minutes at a time. Its just a vacation place and the heater did warm it up so I ignored it for years. Last year I had a repairman take a look. I don't have the receipts with me, but I know he replaced the fan, the gas valve, and a s
I finally had enough and was going to replace the unit but thought I'd give it one more try. I just replaced the thermocouple (pilot would not stay lit), and eventually fixed two gas leaks the tech had caused. This is the short story. There lots more I could say about the repair tech.
The pilot works, the burner works, but now the fan won't come on at all. I was mostly concerning myself with the gas side of things so I didn't pay that much attention to the wiring. There are two wires that appear to run from the burner area up to the heater body (and maybe to the fan). I can't remember if they were connected to anything when I started but they are hanging loose now. I'm not sure if they are no longer needed, or if I somehow pulled them loose when removing the burner assemble to change the thermocouple. Before I tear it all apart again I was hoping to see if someone knows where they are suppose to go. I could not find any connection points of the valve body.
The first attached photo shows the two wires. Also included a shot of the model sticker Any thoughts?
