It seems like my flame sensor is going bad, couple seconds after flame ignites furnace kicks off. I cleaned it with scouring pad a few weeks ago and it hasn't missed a beat ... until today. I can't find the furnace model online at various parts stores. Full model is A96US2V090C16S-01 I have discovered that Armstrong is owned and / or manufactured by Lennox. Anyone know if there is an equivalent Lennox model or some other trick to finding parts for this? I may get an igniter and blower motor cap while I'm at it if prices are reasonable. Hi all. I am planning to add a return wall vent in the living room. There is an existing return wall vent in the room and I looked at how that was installed. Looking up into the basement joist bay, I found a metal plate along a flat side of the oval stack head (#5 in the picture). The house was built in late 80's. Currently, the living room has hardwood flooring. It might have been carpeted at one point. My guess is this metal plate was put in place to support flooring because the hole in the subfloor was way oversized. Could there be another reason why a metal plate was there? I appreciate your comments.
