Exclamation Furnace issue, please help

I have this old furnace at my home. Winter is here, so I turned on my heater a few days ago (the first time this year). I did not feel warm air out of the vent (the fan was running though), so I looked at the pilot light in the furnace to see if it was lightened. Sure it was not, so I lightened it and it was on (meaning there was gas going through). I thought that was about it (because it happened to me last year too). I turned on the heater again via my thermostat, same result, no warm air out. I checked TH and TR on the gas valve, 27VAC. Do I have a bad gas valve? Please advise.

With power off to furnace lift TH or TR at valve. With ohmmeter verify continuity between TH and TR. If none, need to replace valve. I would be more concerned there was gas flowing to the pilot after turning power on to the furnace. Between time power was turned on and you checked for the pilot, gas was accumulating. There could have been an explosion when you went to light the pilot. If the lighting of the pilot is supposed to be automatic, have the valve controller checked.

Welcome to the forums.

Your nick leads me to believe you are renter.
If that's the case it would be important to notify the property owner for service.

Old heater.... has it been professionally checked over recently ?
