2 Zone System Sometimes Doesn't Fire Burner

I found for several years that when I switched our system from AC to heat that the burner would not fire.
Flip the switch at the thermostat back and forth from off to heat and usually after doing it twice it would fire
and work properly for the rest of the season.
Now, both zones can be calling and no fire, flip the switch back and forth 2-3 times and then it fires but it
runs for the rest of the day and then goes into the same failure mode.
I'm guessing it is a relay or something.
There's a Honeywell Zone controller with relays, should I replace it?

Thanks, Pete

The older style zone controller uses thermostat 1 to select the system operation.
There is a good chance that the heat/cool switch is dirty.
A tiny shot of contact cleaner will clean it.
Post the model number from the zone controller.
