Blower in heater/ac won't stop running
#1
Help! My blower motor won't stop running unless I kill the breaker. No air is being blown while this is happening and the fan and the rest of the system works fine.
Thanks.
Thanks.

Turn the heat-off cool switch on the thermostat to OFF. Turn the fan auto-on switch to AUTO. Wait 60 to 90 seconds. If it goes off, it is working normally.
If not, you have a defective part (fan relay or furnace fan switch) or (less likely) a wiring problem.
Most people would need a technician to go from there to a correct diagnosis and repair.
The "No air is being blown while this is happening" makes me think that the stat is calling for cooling and the fan is running for that reason. The filter or indoor cooling coil may be dirty and/or the cooling coil may be iced up.
