unit not blowing at full capacity in house

Question

symtoms are 1) very little air being pushed thru ductwork throughout house 2) two places were ice was on pipe (bare spots where there pipe was not wrapped 3) ice on part of the unit outside 4) the blower motor is running--i don't think it's a blower problem, could it be a freon problem--please help,thx

Take a look at your blower, is the blades dirty???

I'd say it's your filter.. Has it been changed? or Washed if it is a washable one? If that is clean, pull the cover off on the blower unit when it's running.. If it pulls hard, chances are you may have a blocked return ductwork.. Maybe a pice of Cardboard moved and blocked the "drop" on the retun duct. I had that happend on a service call. Or check the blower cage, it maybe is dirty, or if is a belt driven, belt maybe is slipping??
