Question

I recently had my boiler system cleaned and the contractor said that boilers need to be maintained at constant temperatures...they don't "like" to be turned down to a cooler temperature at night, it causes to much stress on the system (changing heat all the time). What is the stress that is caused on the system?

Thanks,

also incorporate a loop for domestic hot water?Or do you also have a seperate hot water heater?PDF

I take it

you are turning heat down by your wall mounted tstat. This would leave boiler at a preset temp of around 180 degrees. The boiler in this way cycles itself. You probably shut it down completely at the end of heating season.PDF
