Inside and outside ac unit freezing up

My outside AC unit is freezing up on the coils and the copper tube going in to the unit. The inside AC unit is also freezing up on the coils. I get almost no air from the vents and it is not cold. Both units continue to run however.

Turn tstat to off

place fan switch to on for 4 or 5 hours.This will defrost unit.Next check air filter.If it is dirty or plugged replace it.Give us a holler back.PDF

iced up

sounds like unit low on refrigerant charge If your filter is clean, make sure that system is totally defrosted and still get icing check refer charge

New furnace runs constantly

We installed a new natural gas forced air furnace last September. We also installed a new thermostat at the same time. The furnace runs constantly, it takes a long time to cut out. We have changed the anticipator settings on the thermostat, and it is set to auto mode, but no improvement. The furnace filters are clean and changed regularily. Any ideas? Sometimes in order to have it cut out we have to turn the thermostat down. Thanks for the help.

Ignition lockout?

I noticed my furnace not going on when the T-stat said it was on. I have a Honeywell digital T-stat. So I looked at my Carrier furnace and noticed a service label listing different problems based on a LED code. The LED code I noticed was #14 "ignition lockout". The explaination for the code says, "Control will auto-reset after three hours. Refer to #34". Code 34 says, "Control will try three more times before a lockout #14 occurs. If flame signal lost after trial for ignition period, blower will come on for 90 seconds recycle relay. Check for: 1) Oxide buildup on flame sensor (clean with fine sandpaper) 2) Proper flame sense microamps (.5 microamps D.C. min.) 3) Gas valve turned off. 4) Manual shut-off valve. 5) Low inlet gas pressure. 6) Green wire MUST be connected to furnace sheet metal. 7) Inadequate flame carryover or rough ignition." How do I check for #1, #2, and #7? I don't think it is any of the other options. Is this something I can do myself?:confused:
