Hello - I have an American Standard Gas Boiler (Empire type 2-GA-E) heating my hot water baseboard home. The boiler has an additional water resovour that feeds into the boiler. My problem is that when the heat turns on, there must be too much water in the system, so it releases out via a pressure valve and through a pipe to a bucket I have under the pipe. This has been happening more and more. I noticed that when the heat comes on, the pressure reaches the red hand on the gague (sorry, I don't have the actual pressure reading). At this point, the water starts to leave the system via the release valve. I can release more by opening the valve, which in turn lowers the current pressure. My question is how do I stop this from happening EVERY time the heat comes on? I can't continue to mop the floor if I'm not at home in time to empty the bucket. Thanks... Ed

Our Tempstar gas furnace may need a new ignitor module, and I was wondering if anyone had replaced this part before. The local repairman is wanting to charge about $400 in labor, and that seems excessive to me -- but I am not sure...?
