Is it possible to take a window a/c unit, set it inside a room without putting it into a window (set it on some sort of table) and use it ?? If not, why?

Hey,
An air conditioning unit pulls the hot air out of the room and removes it to the outdoors,if you don't use it properly it won't cool properly and in time you will probably ruin your unit.

jonathanisaac,
You are one rude dude! Why don't you practice what you preach in your signature?
It is obvious that curtfr wasn't sure about this subject. He didn't just post it for your entertainment. Keep your rude and idiotic snickers to yourself.

All being =
theorectically you could do the same with your refrigerator.HOWEVER,an engineering aspect comes into play. The Heat of Compression. All being equal a 10,000 btu unit should supply that much heat absorption and rejection, inturn a rooms temp would remain constant. But HOC adds more heat.PDF
