Above or Below Heating sytems.

Our heating ducts/vents are above the ceiling. I'm planing to move a couple of them. I thought came up though as some houses have their ducts/vents below the floor....which is better? And can I do this to my house?

Thanks

Hi, I have seen a few homes here in Minnesota that were built in the 60's had their vents in the Ceilings. It's great up there when you have Central Air... But not for for heat! The heat just stays up there, unless you got a ceiling fan running to help pull the heat around in the room. If you can get to a duct work and want to put it on the floor, go ahead! If you have to do it in the Attic, make sure your pipe is insulated!! Even check the old runs.. It might not have enough. Good luck!
