Hi Gents I'm new to this. I have following question and I will appreciate your response on the same. I have York's HVAC. My outdoor AC unit works fine but I don't get any air blowing out from vent ? I can hear the noise of motor running inside the furnace unit ,but not sure whether this noise is because of blower or any other motor. I don't get air be'cos blower is not working ? any input appreciated. thanks in advance.

my home central ac went down yesterday. i noticed upon startup that the compressor would fire up for a split second[sounded normal]and then quit-the cooling fan continued to run. noticing some black ooze from the paper cover on the start cap. i rounded up another at the locals. carefully swapped them out[i know caps. are dangerous when charged so i shorted the old one together to be safe.] and now the compressor fires up for about one full second and then turns off. the cooling fan runs the whole time. this 2 year old coleman unit has a dual cap. for the compressor and the fan but on seperate output circuits according the the diagram. is it common for the run cap. to lose the compressor support circuit and overload the startup cap. until the startup pukes too?? the only other components are the contactor and start relay. shoot, i just noticed the fan has a bypass wire from the contactor[for a different speed on startup?]. maybe the run cap. is toast and the fan is running off the contactor only.
