Snow's a-comin'?

The talking heads on the TV can't stop blabbering about the two feet of snow we're gonna get here in New England
Has this storm hit anybody west of me yet?
Is it really that bad?

Here in Cincy we got about 3" on Thursday night, friday was clear, late last night we got freezing rain and are supposed to get an additional 3"-6" sometime today unless the "talking heads" change the forcast.

You may be smug now tow_guy, but wait until tonight when the temperature down there drops to...
...uh...
...below 70
Maybe like 60!
Brrrrr!

It was zero when I got up this morning, and I'm on the coast
It's unusual for us to see so many single digit days here

When we visit my folks in Punta Gorda around this time of year the locals think we're nuts jumping in the pool and wearing shorts on 65 degree days
I was there one Christmas, it got into the 50s and I saw people with "snorkle" jackets on

I live in northwest washington

A couple weeks ago, we got 6 to 10 inches of snow. It lasted 3 days, then it was gone. No snow since than.

It's really windy now
Snows still coming down
Started at noon yesterday, it's 9 AM now
The drifts are pretty bad
Parts I shoveled at midnight last night are still clear
Other parts I shoveled are 3 feet deep
I can't tell how much we actually got it's blowing so much
30, 40 MPH gusts easy
I can see the neighbor's mini van from here
I can see behind her van the drift goes up to the van's roof and spreads out 25 feet behind it
She's not going anywhere for a while

They just measured 50+MPH gusts here
That sound about right
I can see branches littering the yard poking out of the snow
