No more post editing?

I just noticed that you can't edit your own posts anymore.

With all due respect to the admins., what the heck is going on with this place lately? It seems we are losing more and more features as time goes on

I no longer have the "Edit" button.

In addition, the "Posting Rules" box at the bottom of the page says "You may not edit your posts"

I noticed that recently. I don't like it. A time limit is perfecly acceptable and expected, but no edit is BS. Another vB site I frequent is very similar in layout and function and it's edit and "search members posts" fuctions work fine.

The other member's posts thing is not that big a deal but the no short term edit is a PIA.

What is with this site that is doesn't allow things all other vB sites do?

I was not aware of this situation and I have sent Forums a PM to find out what the story is. Either he will post an answer or I will if I get an answer.

I had no idea this function was gone. I guess we will find out soon as Majak D finds out from Forums.

Actually, this site is pretty much a custom job. It's a testament to the quality that it still looks like the standard, out of the box product. All the templates are custom, hence the problems once in a while. We can't catch them all during testing, and as the problems are brought to the attention of those that need to know, they fix them as soon as they can.

I just found out about the missing edit button trying to edit rather than make a new reply in another topic
Thought I'd swing by here and see what's up
Guess I'm subscribing to this thread

So.... I'm assuming there's no word on this yet?

I don't mean to be a bother, it's just that, as Speedy Petey said, getting by without the post edit feature is a real pain to deal with.

It just seems like other issues seem to have been kind of brushed aside before without any real resolution (i.e. the "Find all posts by user" function), and I would really hate to lose yet another useful function.

This web site has some highly customized features, operations and functions which are all way beyond and well above the basic standard version, as tae correctly noted. Thanks tae.

As a result, some problems may develope as a result, for some of us and not all of us.

Additionally, personal computers and the settings in them and some web browsers also can be effected and/or cause problems of many varieties. Lots of possible causes for all sorts of problems and/or conditions, etc. A missing edit button can be one of them caused by any number of possible causes and/or reasons, etc.

Sometimes a simple reboot resolves some problems too. Other times not so.

We all experience problems from time to time. With or without site customizing.

Anyone who has not experienced a problem on this web site, is just lucky, so far.... Luck does run out sooner or later for most of us.

Corrections, if caused by software errors, will be made asap.

I think it's because you're a mod. This sort of thing only seems to happen to non-mods  (There should be a "shrug" smiley )

Anyway, my "edit" is back also.

Danke

If one is good, more must be better, right?

That's kind of bizarre...

I just noticed that there are other smilies
