Thumbs up Window VS. Central

What Do You Think Is The Best Way To Keep Your Home Cool?

It all depends on how many rooms and how big your house is. i personally prefer the OLDER window units. if you have an old air conditioner and dont plan on switching to central when it breaks... dont make the mistake of getting rid of it and getting a new one. if you want a newer a/c unit get a central. iv'e only owned one newer one that works well. i have a few old units and they work great. i never even had to make a repair and theyre at least 20 years old. when the do break i plan on having them fixed.

I do agree that older system cools better. But have you watched your electric meter spin???

Over all central air is better for cooling your home and is cheaper to run in the long run.

Some time fixing an old unit is going to cost way more than getting a new one..

I had a Maytag window A/C when we were renting an Apt, I agree, it did a good job of cooling. We now own a house, and I put in a new Trane system along with a variable speed 2 stage furnace, and been very happy with the comfort it provides in the whole house.

Well window units are the best if you don't want to spend thousands of dollars having centrol put in but the downside is YOU CAN"T OPEN YOUR WINDOWS to get fresh air in when its to cold outside to run the a/c but its a oven inside.
But then again centrol air is cheaper in the long run. But for now I'm sticking to windows because we can't afford to have the rent go up if we have the landlord install centel air ( he said he would do it but the rent would go up to cover the cost it already 900 a month and we pay 275 a week.)

Its about $910 but he pays it late about 1 month after its due so the late fee is $25 total for the whole month when it should be $25per week after the first week but the landlords being nice.

I HATE math and math problems...!!!!!!!Stop it! It's killing me!!!!!!

So the rent is due every week or every month? Late is based weekly? That's weird. Maybe the landlord hates math too.

Its was due every month but he can't afford it every month so the landlord lets him pay it every week but hes a month behind in the rent understand now.

you oughtta start a lawn mowing service. when my mom tried to hire one to mow her lawn on a weekly basis, she couldn't find one with any openings! they were all booked solid. seems like a money-maker to me, if you've got one of those super fast riders.
