Mitch17 is right - black cars/trucks look great when they are clean, but are very hard to keep that way. Beige and tan can be filthy, and still look OK - white is like that too, but it doesn't seem like it ought to be.

You might be drawn to the big shiny black truck because it speaks to you - things like strength, power, well maintained. Like a strong, powerful and fit guy in nice clothes. Sort of romantic - we love our trucks, but there's no romance there. We like our trucks like we like our women - low maintenance.
(Put down the gun, I was just kidding!)

see how you are?? you want us to be low maintenance, but you don't want us ugly either. well, i'm here to tell ya, MOST women don't look good without some (or tons, in some cases!) makeup, and to get our hair to look as though we haven't done much to it, takes tons of hair products & time! no one's rolling out of bed looking gorgeous. sorry.

and no, the black truck thing is the bad boy thing. which is why i married the white car guy.

AMEN to THAT Annette! Regular women DO NOT look like what you see in magazines where they cut and paste and do great computer graphic magic!

Hey, if you get a black car/truck..doesn't it cost more for insurance?

If you ever lived in the south (or HOT parts of the west) you'd know why black is not popular down here.

Real men don't buy/drive vehicles to impress babes. Ubob is probably a real man inasmuch as he KNOWS he's driving a chick car, but drives it anyway [and confounding popular opinion, gets the babes anyway].

BTW although I've been DQ'd by Toe Girl, I pick up three or four DIFFERENT babes every day in MY ride.

Proof positive that it's the guy, not the ride - how many girls want to ride in a rough-riding tow truck (no offense to The_Tow_Guy's vehicle) - it has to be him.

Just like with our trucks, guys can see through a made-up exterior - kind of like a nice paint job on a rusted fender. It's the inner beauty (like what you see in your "white-car-guy") that makes us tie the knot (or at least keep it tied). Next time, before you roll out of bed, ask the guy next to you if you're gorgeous - I'll bet he thinks so.

Any guy who drives an Eclipse BETTER be a smooth talker, LOL.

Okay, you got me; living in an area with the highest median age in the USA I get a lot of ugl.. umm, less than pretty babes.

Two other vehicles in the household; wife's '01 Camry and HS senior daughter's '96 Escort [don't tell anyone I have a Ford in the family, PLEASE!].

BTW my wrecker rides very well; most customers who ride in with their vehicle say, wow, this is cool I can see SO well [it's a cabover].

I am to some degree, like most people, full of sh**, but I have nothing to gain from smooth talking you ladies on a public forum.

The_Tow_Guy - I feel your pain - My younger daughter has gone over to the dark side - she owns a Ford. She is crazy about Mustangs (claims an old 66' I had when she was a baby is what caused it). I can't talk though, my Miata became a Ford when they bought out Mazda.

yes, surveys, as pertains to those PROHIBITED here, would be for the purpose of a marketing study or advertising or soliciting of some sort. i'm merely making conversation in a disturbingly quiet (ie: non-chatty) Chats & Whines topic......

Annette,

Some don't find quiet that disturbing.....................Mind you, my wife and twenty-two year old daughter might tend to agree with your thoughts on chit-chat.

My tires are black....does that count?

My fleet consists of:
89 Tempo, blue, 162k
96 Dakota, 8, Silver (driftwood), 92k
96 Cavalier, tan (don't normally acknowledge this is mine), 126k
98 Vette, white, 52k

I use the "junkers" for commuting 200 miles round trip....Dakota and Vette stay hunkered down in the garage until I need them.

I think all women are pretty in their own way....just sometimes you have to look REAL hard to see it! Now that I'm an old man I can appreciate a womans inner beauty...would much rather talk to an intelligent "plain" woman than a dumb "babe" anyday! Besides, more beer makes up for less make-up anyday.

I don't care what a woman wears...jeans and ratty t-shirts have their place as well as formal gowns...******************
