Talking Wine and Dine...sorta thing?!?!

I was thinking about it the other day while I was watching the People's Choice Awards, that it would be fun to host an award show party with friends and just Wine and Dine while relaxing and watching the Award Show. I actually went to one of these types of parties for the Oscars not so long ago. It was actually very nice, we decided to make it a potluck kind of party. Each person brought their own plate of food and favorite drink or wine to share with the whole group. We had more then 20 guests so you could only imagine the amount of goodies we had all night long. I would love to actually host one for the next big award show. What do you all think?

Well, for my part, the only way I would sit through one of the awards shows (Oscar, Emmy, Grammie, Tony, Globe, PC, Manny Moe & Jack) is if there's food and drink, LOTS of drink.

There ain't enough wine in all of California to get me to watch one of those terminally boring award shows.
Now put on some TOH reruns and open a good Cab and I'm there for the duration.

I'm with Wayne on this one. Just the adds for 'em put me out. What a colossal wast of time watching a bunch of pampered movie stars at a function like that. Any excuse for a pot luck will do so how about a "watching grass grass grow" party? Food's food.

We need to add a glossary of terms & abbreviations to the site.

[TG biting his tongue not to rib DIY on this one].

Gotta be old enough to feature Bob & Norm, tho; everything past that are just pretenders.

I'm OK with the new guy but the big hair guy didn't impress me. I do miss Bob and regular guy projects they used to do. Now its million dollar budgets and over the top projects. I watched one earlier this week and I almost fell out of my chair when the landscape guy is guessing a 40' dry stacked stone wall is gonna' come in about 40K.

Tonight we had a good wine with some chocolate cookies and watched "The Odd Couple". The old one with Walter Matthau and Jack Lemon. LMAO. How's that for high times?

This seems like the wrong site to be talking about watching some award show.

Sounds like a Superbowl Party with better clothes and fewer ads. I think this is the only way to watch an awards show.

Wine and Dine...sorta thing?!?!

For Super Bowl - a few assorted Papa Murphy's "take and bake" pizzas. Pick up before the game and throw into the hot oven for 15 minutes as required by the appetites. Add a few social beverages and you are set.

Order in advance and pick up a few hours before the game to miss the rush. - No hassel!!!

Beach party Bar-B-Q watching the waves come in and go out, and came in .......

80 degrees may make it too hot - not
